mission:
The mission statement of the Erasmus University College Brussels (EhB) defines its tasks in an international perspective. The framework for the international policy is the knowledge triangle: education, (applied) research and innovation. So, EhB supports strongly international cooperation in education and research, and is for this reason member of several European networks, of which the Compostela Group of Universities.
The internationalisation of curricula and campuses is a priority. Mobility of students and staff, cooperation in international projects and close collaboration with the French speaking community are the instruments to reach these goals.
EhB follows the European guidelines concerning international cooperation, implements the major action lines of the Bologna Declaration, and develops innovative teaching and learning methods facilitating both mobility and international cooperation.
EhB and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) are partners in the University Association Brussels (UAB). Their international activities are geared to one another – and even though both are keeping their specific character, their International Offices are in the same location.
Regarding the non discrimination objectives: EhB pays special attention to students with specific needs and to equal opportunities for all. EhB and VUB have an active Diversity Platform, and collaborate closely in policy making and community based projects, with the support of diverse NGOs focussing for instance on the intercultural dimension of curricula or on innovative and interdisciplinary teaching methodologies.
Generally speaking – the internationalisation policy at EhB is based on humanistic principles and condemns any discrimination on the basis of ethnic or geographical origin, disability, gender or sexual preference, religion or social origin, political or philosophical conviction.
