Most medical doctors speak English, French and Dutch. You can make an appointment or go to the doctor’s office during general consultation. Pharmacies are open every weekday. In larger cities they are also open Saturday mornings. All pharmacies are closed Sundays. The address of the nearest on-duty pharmacy is displayed in the window when a pharmacy is closed. Parents are required to vaccinate babies and young children at regular intervals. In Flanders this is organised by Kind en Gezin, who you can contact if you have children below 3 years of age. http://www.kindengezin.be/KG/English_pages/default.jsp. For information regarding emergency procedures, emergency numbers, medical assistance, reimbursement, pharmacies, and address of medical centres, contact your host institution upon arrival.
