Entertainment

Every Flemish city offers a wide range of entertainment offerings, including theatre, music concerts (classical, rock, jazz, world), discos, clubs and cinemas. All major Flemish cities publish their own listing magazine, available at newsstands and in venues.

Sport

Good sports facilities are felt to be important in Flanders. Almost every municipality has its own sports centre. There are 18,000 in all across the region, which everything from football pitches, tennis courts and running tracks, to swimming pools, riding schools and golf courses.
Universities and university colleges have their own sport facilities, and interuniversity competitions are organised.

Shopping

In the Flemish towns you never have to stroll far for a shopping centre or a branch of an international chain store. Shopping streets such as Meir in Antwerp, Nieuwstraat and Louisalaan in Brussels, Veldstraat in Ghent or Bruul in Mechelen are swarming with cheerful shoppers, especially Saturdays.
