During the Flamenco fora specific subjects and actual themes concerning the internationalisation of the Flemish higher education are discussed and / or presented. These fora can be organised on a limited scale (brainstorm, discussion, ...) or a broader scale (presentation of advice, new information tools, ...).

Flanders is well served by three airports: Brussels International Airport at Zaventem, Antwerp Airport in Deurne and Ostend Airport on the coast. Brussels International Airport is one of Europe’s largest. Antwerp Airport has regular passenger flights to London, Geneva, Dublin, Hamburg and Munich. Ostend Airport is steadily growing into a fully-fledged airport for freight and passenger transport to intercontinental destinations.
Railways
The Flemish railway network – run by the Belgian State Railways (NMBS) – has almost 3600 km of track, with direct daily cargo and passenger services to neighbouring countries. NMBS subsidiaries Eurostar and Thalys offer high-speed services to the Netherlands, France, Germany and the UK.
Other public transport
Public transport is well organised, with frequent tram, bus and trolley services in accordance with strict timetables. All areas of the main cities are well served. All Flemish institutions for higher education are frequently served by regular public transport services.
