Personal expenses
Average personal expenses are about 850 euros per month. This includes accommodation, meals, study materials and travelling in Flanders. Some institutions have student restaurants where they offer meals at democratic prices.
Housing
Many universities and university colleges have rooms available for students or provide lists of local rooms for rent. It is advisable to contact your host institution for information. Some institutions offer accommodation at about 200 euros per month. Renting a studio flat is more expensive, although you might find one for 400 euros per month. Financing your education by taking student jobs is possible, but fairly difficult.
Insurance
You need adequate insurance before registering at all institutions (health, accident, third-party liability insurance). For more information contact your host institution.
