By bike to EAIE in Rotterdam

On Monday, 25 September a delegation of the Flemish higher education institutions will travel to the EAIE conference in Rotterdam by bike. Through this 102 km bike ride from Antwerp to Ahoy in Rotterdam, we want to raise awareness for sustainability and green travel in internationalisation, which is more and more important in the Erasmus+ programme and student and staff mobility in general.

All Flemish Higher Education Institutions are taking steps to implement sustainability in their institutional internationalisation policy. This bicycle event fits perfectly in the strong reputation of Flanders in cycling.

EAIE stands for the European Association of International Education. The annual conference in Rotterdam is the biggest higher education event in Europe and will be attended by at least 6500 participants from all over the world. At least 140 representatives of the Flemish universities and universities of applied sciences will attend the event, not only for the sessions and workshops on various aspects of internationalisation, but also for the many networking opportunities. The EAIE annual conference is one the best events in the world to meet partner institutions for student mobility and other joint projects.

The small delegation of cyclists will meet on Monday, 25 september at the Berchem railway station at 9am and start the ride at 9.30. They hope to arrive in Rotterdam in the late afternoon.
